Tidewater, which operates vessels for the offshore oil and gas industry, has almost 22.5 million shares outstanding, giving the offer a prospective total value of about $213 million.
Allegheny Gets An Extension

LEAD: The Federal Bankruptcy Court in Pittsburgh granted Allegheny International a three-week extension yesterday to file the plan of reorganization that its directors had approved unanimously on Wednesday. That plan, backed by the company's shareholders, involves selling Allegheny's Sunbeam and Oster appliance units to a rival, Black & Decker, for about $260 million.
