Reporter Mrs S G Parshall (Baltimore Sun), in 1st known case of its kind, gets ct hearing on her suit to bar paper from using her by-line on a series of articles on Baltimore nursing homes because of editing done on articles; ct rejects her request for injunction but lawyers hold that ct hearing may have opened way for others to press issue of a reporter's right to control use of his name; ct, before hearing case on its merits, rejected motions by paper to dismiss suit on freedom of press grounds; by-lines of 2 other reporters who did 'undercover' reptg as nursing home orderlies were withheld at their request; they joined Mrs Parshall in earlier protest to paper's managing ed P Heisler; Heisler tells ct that their requests were justified because of covert nature of their reptg but he and paper's atty F D Murnaghan argue that Mrs Parshall's by-line was needed to give articles 'warmth' and 'credibility' and that by-lines are co policy to reinforce reporter's responsibility for his work; witnesses from ANG testify that they believed they had 'oral understanding' with paper on withholding protested by-lines but ct rules they did not; Mrs Parshall's atty S Sachs sees principle established that a reporter can seek injunction if he can show injury to his name by use of his by-line
